Johanna Mountfort of Physical Edge is a highly sought after body building trainer.
Here is the Latest News from 2012:
2012 kicked off full steam ahead for the Physical Edge bodybuilding team. With the competition season beginning in April Jo had her work cut out for her! The first Auckland show of the year was the NABBA Counties Manukau champs. As with previous years at NABBA Counties, Jo chose not to compete herself so she could focus on her clients. These were previous Counties Manukau Novice Figure Champion Alyssa Christie and new competitor Robyn Aplin and also Jo had the privelage of preparing the posing and routine for previous 2009 NABBA Ms New Zealand Figure Champion, Kym Carter.
A very high standard of athletes graced the Hawkins Theatre stage in Papakura that day, so Jo was delighted when Robyn placed 2nd and Alyssa 3rd out of their Novice Figure Tall class of seven beautiful Novice ladies and Kym placed 2nd in her Open Figure class which was of an exceptional international standard of three stunningly conditioned Open Figure athletes. To top the day off Alyssa won the award of “Best Performer” for her Lady Gaga ‘Poker Face” routine, choreographed by Jo.

The next weekend Jo was given the prestigious role of being the Guest Poser at The Female Bodybuilding Seminar for the Beginner and Seasoned Athlete. Over 70 audience members attended the seminar and were fortunate enough to learn from an international panel of judges, nutritionists and athletes and also witness Jo demonstrate the correct posing for the Figure Class and see her perform a three minute posing routine especially choreographed for the seminar.
On May 5th, Jo stepped back on the competition stage at the NABBA Asia Pacific and Auckland Championships, being very fortunate that this usually international NABBA Event was this year held in Auckland. Jo brought a very full condition this time, quite different from her harder figure of 2011. More muscle mass, slightly fuller, smoother and more feminine. It was a brave move but one that worked to her favor as at this event she was required to enter the International Figure class, a step up from the Open Figure class that she competed in in 2011. Jo won the international Figure class, beating the super lean and hard form of multi title Overall Figure Champion Janine Haywood. In the Overall Figure class (with the six 1st place figure competitors) the audience sat on the edge of their seats as the two top Figure competitors Sue Bettridge and Jo went head to head in more comparisons, looking polar opposites, Sue extremely lean and striated versus Jo’s full, muscular yet feminine figure. At the end of the night Jo took out the title of the NABBA 2012 Asia Pacific Overall Figure Champion, another international level title to add to her collection. A proud moment again for Physical Edge and also for Jo’s new sponsors BodyScience BSc.
The rest of the year is an exciting one with more competitons in August. Jo is currently preparing three beautiful girls for the NZIFBB Auckland champs, two going into the Bikini class and one going into the IFBB Figure class. Jo also has two girls entering the Rachelle Chase Fitness Model Search. The NABBA/WFF Pan Pacific champs held in Auckland will be the next show for Jo and also will be the first 2012 show for previous NABBA North Harbour Shape class runner up, Stacey Housley who has lost over 20kgs in the year that Jo has been training her, so this competition will mark a significant achievement for both Jo and Stacey.
