Justeen Jones is Jo’s Senior Figure Champion, having already won 1st place in 2 Auckland championships and placing 3rd in the NABBA Nationals. She competes in a very lean condition with good muscle mass, balanced symmetry and has good detail in her back. Justeen was one of the three to compete this year in the NABBA Auckland Champs. This time she did not place in her difficult class of eight but has not been put off – We’ll see her back onstage next year.
Jo put Alison Emmerson back on the bodybuilding stage this year after Alison competed 20 years ago as a novice Physique competitor in the INBA. Alison won her Senior Physique class this year at the NABBA Auckland Champs with her lean, hard condition beating five other tough ladies.
20 year old Caroline Cloete went as a novice competitor into the shape class. Jo prepared her in just six weeks for this. Her confident, well presented package and polished posing placed her 3rd out of a big class of eight. Caroline is now preparing for NABBA Counties Manukau held on August 6.
Jo has competed herself three times this year already in the NABBA Auckland Champs and also in the INBA Auckland Classic. Coming in much leaner, harder and with more mass than she did last year Jo won the Overall Figure title at the INBA Auckland Champs, beating a very hard line up of international level figure competitors in the Open Figure class and then topping the Overall line up against some well conditioned and very experienced Figure athletes. This win qualified and sponsored Jo for the INBA All Female Muscle and Fitness Classic held in Melbourne in July, so Jo competed there for the second year in a row and placed 2nd in her tough class of four very sharp Open Figure ladies. Jo is now preparing for her final contest of the year the INBA South Pacific Champs in Taupo where she will compete in the Open Figure Short class. Jo’s most recent figure client Moira Huges will compete there as well in the Senior Figure 50+ class.
