I first started seeing Jo last year when I was looking for help and direction with getting involved with bodybuilding. Ever since I first started getting into fitness one of my goals was to always one day get onto that stage and compete in a federation. My first issue was I had no idea where to even start or what I needed to do to prepare for such an event! One of my very close friends and also a trainer told me to get in touch with Jo for guidance and posing practice as I said to myself from day one if I was to compete I would do it properly and commit to it 100%! I purchased the complete package that Jo advertises which includes one on one coaching sessions and also a personal routine made especially for you! So this was exactly what I wanted for my first ever show! Jo operates from home with a personal studio which she uses for private one on one coaching which offers a relaxed and comfortable environment to learn in. This was great as it enabled me to focus without worrying about others watching in or being distracted by noisy people working out in a gym environment! Jo has an extremely calming and friendly nature which makes learning the poses a breeze, initially I thought it was going to be like learning to ride a bicycle all over again however with Jo's knowledge and experience combined with a very calming nature I was able to learn and practice each poses with confidence. Jo also offers Skype coaching which for me was perfect as due to my work commitments I wasn't always able to visit her home studio, I was able to practice the poses I learnt with her in the studio and practice these at home and follow up for small corrections via Skype to keep on top of things. Another reason why I have continued to be a client with Jo is her programs! They are fantastic! One thing I have learnt is we all can perform some exercises in a gym however having a consistent routine is crucial in order to get the results! Jo offers a personal program designed specifically to your individual goals that you have, I loved how I was able to sit with Jo and discuss areas I wanted to target and improve on and design a program together based on exercises that would be realistic for my situation. Jo explains each exercise listed on the program and demonstrates correct technique also. I found this really helpful as there is nothing worse than trying to workout what a particular exercise is by yourself!! Overall Jo has helped me well and truly achieve my goals and has done far more to me than just teach me posing and give me programs. She guided me where to go for nutrition, getting posing trunks, and the tanning side also! For anyone who wants to get involved with bodybuilding or needs posing coaching or if you just want to get serious with a training program with professional guidance. I cannot recommend Johanna Mountford enough!
